My name is Steph and I am a serial crafter, I hold my hands up! This blog will be a place I can share my ideas and creations that will help me become the perfect crafter/artist/baker/Pug momma I dream to be.
Yes, I have a wee Pug – Edward is his name and eating (everything) is his game – I’ll be posting plenty about him in the future. Right now he is curled up on my lap pretending to be asleep but it’s very close to a certain meal time, so he keenly has one eye open and any slight movement I make is his signal to leap up and look at me with the most hope any creature has ever expressed through their eyeballs.
This blog will be somewhere I can share my knitting and crochet projects as well as some original patterns I am working on, including cushions, chunky over sized scarves and blankets. If it’s cosy, I’m gonna want to make it, own it and share it! I also want to share any cooking recipes and baking experiments I try, I am a vegan and am the main cook of the household so I’m often trying out new stuff in le kitchen!
I will sometimes let loose about my frustrating mental health. Unfortunately, I’m not going to share my inner most darkest secrets for all to judge, but I have learned that it’s unhealthy to hide my suffering. Anxiety has lived within me since I was 8 years old, coming to light when I was 16 and manifesting itself so deep in my head that depression also reared its ugly head at around 25 years old. I am now 29 and learning to face my life without overcoming either of these disorders and simply co-existing with them – Fun!
I probably should have kicked off this whole thing by explaining my main profession as an artist; that is, a pet portraiture artist. I re-create photographs of beloved pets in graphite pencil for those pet lovers out there! This is massively time-consuming and effects how often I dabble in my other ventures but girl gotta pay dem bills!
G’bye for meow!
